Features & Benefits
The INTEGRIcollar™ is a strain sensor for accurate and reliable long term measurement of axial and bending stresses of subsea structures. The INTEGRIcollar™ is a strain sensor for accurate and reliable long term measurement of axial and bending stresses of subsea structures. The device is attached to tubular subsea structures such as a riser using two rigid collars that securely fix to the structure. Four equi-spaced ‘gap’ sensors are placed between the collars allowing the accurate measurement of pipe axial and bending strains. The device relies on the high accuracy and robustness of the ‘gap’ sensors, which are extensively qualified in marine applications. The sensors are fully sealed and suitable for deepwater applications. The INTEGRIcollar™ is manufactured from corrosion resistant alloys coupled with a robust design and non-contact sensors to ensure reliable operation for many years without intervention. The INTEGRIcollar™ typically delivers two micron resolution for gap measurement. With an initial collar-to-collar distance of one meter, this equates to a resolution of two microstrains. For structures such as risers, this capability is essential for measuring response due to day-to-day current profiles and waves that contribute significantly over time to damage accumulation. |
