Subsea Systems Engineer (Mechatronic)

Pulse Structural Monitoring is the leader in marine structural monitoring and has been responsible for the provision of highly successful monitoring systems and services since 1998. Currently Pulse Inc. in Houston, TX has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer (Subsea Systems).  

Suitable candidates should have a strong technical background and positive work aptitude for carrying out offshore installations of mechanical, electronic and electrical instrumentation. The candidate should also have excellent written communication skills and should be confident in verbal communication with colleagues and clients through daily interaction. Candidates should be equally comfortable working onshore or offshore individually and as part of a project team. The candidate should be motivated to learn in a fast-paced and technically challenging work environment.

Requirements are:

  • BS Mechanical Engineering
  • Offshore Experience, preferably in the installation of complex monitoring systems
  • Generating CAD models and drawings (layouts, assemblies etc)
  • Solid Works and AutoCAD design experience
  • Stress analysis calculations
  • Work offshore on a team rotation schedule
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes

Preferred experience in the following areas:

  • Project Management Experience
  • Authoring technical procedures and/or specifications
  • Working knowledge of ROV tools and applications
  • Working knowledge of general subsea systems
  • Electronic sensing technology background

The ideal candidate for Pulse will have at least 1 year of offshore or relevant experience.  Knowledge of both mechanical and electrical systems is preferred and experience with offshore electronic equipment and instrumentation is a plus. Electronic Engineering candidates with relevant experience and skill set may be considered as well.
