Pulse Structural Monitoring currently has an opening for a Business Development Manager
The Company:
Pulse Structural Monitoring is the leader in marine structural monitoring and has been responsible for the provision of highly successful monitoring systems and services since 1998. Pulse is a dynamic, fast growing company and has ambitions to grow substantially over the next 5 years. Pulse runs autonomously but is part of the Acteon group, which comprises 17 companies and is the leading service provider in the subsea sector. There are exciting opportunities to grow and develop both within Pulse and the Acteon group.
The Role:
The Business Development Manager reports to the managing director and is responsible for the growth and development of Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific region. Key customers will include international oil companies, national operating companies, EPIC contractors and equipment suppliers. The position will have 2 direct reports including a proposals manager and sales representative in Asia.
- Responsible for delivering sales to plan for target markets.
- Maintain regular client contact against the agreed sales and marketing plan to build key relations, identify new opportunities/countries and formulate the company’s commercial strategy for specific projects/clients.
- Preparing Tender documents and proposals in conjunction with the proposals manager. Liaising closely with Pulse project management and engineering team to ensure that all bids and proposals are technically compliant and can be delivered within the customer requirements.
- Reviewing Group business development and commercial policies and strategies, including writing the sales and marketing plan in conjunction with the senior management team.
- Formulate, and coordinate marketing activities and policies to promote products and services, working with advertising and promotion managers.
- Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
- Participate in industry trade organizations and other pertinent technical associations or committees.
- Keep abreast of competitor's strategy, pricing, and general market activities. Assist in or produce feasibility studies/business plans for new product development.
Skills and experience:
Pulse are looking for a dynamic and ambitious person with the following experience and attributes:
- Successful track record in industrial sector, preferably offshore oil and gas industry with a minimum of 5 years experience;
- Must possess a strong technical background with an ability to engage in technical discussions with customers/partners and experience in delivering technical solutions to the market place
- Firm understanding of basic financial and marketing techniques to evaluate projects/products/markets;
- Excellent written, verbal communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to prepare reports and to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and clients/customers.
- Ability to travel
- Evidence of working well within a team environment, including remote teams
- Ability to take responsibility, be proactive and work autonomously .
- Minimum Bachelors degree is required, preferred in a technical discipline
